Breakfast is an important part of a healthy diet, especially for elementary school children. Good breakfast habits have been shown to support children's physical, cognitive, and emotional development. Children who eat breakfast regularly tend to have better concentration in learning, more stable energy throughout the day, and higher academic performance compared to children who do not eat breakfast. Several studies have found that children who do not eat breakfast have lower blood glucose levels in the morning, which contributes to decreased short-term memory and problem-solving abilities. In addition, irregular breakfast is also associated with an increased risk of obesity, because children tend to consume foods high in sugar and fat outside of main meal times. This activity aims to increase knowledge and form positive, sustainable habits. This community service was carried out on Thursday, April 21, 2025 at Alkhairaat Elementary School, Tobelo, North Halmahera Regency, using a participatory educational approach method, which actively involves students in the learning process. This activity was attended by 24 children, 1 teacher, 4 lecturers, before being given education most of the children did not know the importance of a healthy breakfast for elementary school children and after being given education 90% of children had good knowledge about the importance of a healthy breakfast for elementary school children.
Putri YayuJumrianiNurbaetyNur Islamyati

https://e-jcs.aktabe.ac.id/index.php/jurnal/article/view/139

Posyandu Bahagia is one of the community health service centers in Cibeureuyeuh Village, Conggeng District, Sumedang Regency which has an important role in efforts to improve maternal and child health. However, in its implementation, this Posyandu faces challenges in terms of less than optimal communication and service promotion, which has an impact on low community participation in Posyandu activities. Therefore, this community service aims to optimize the branding of Posyandu Bahagia through the use of Canva as a graphic design tool in health promotion and education strategies. Using the Canva platform, which is easy to access and use, Posyandu members and health cadres in Cibeureuyeuh Village were trained to create various graphic design materials, such as informative and interesting posters, flyers and infographics. This approach is expected to increase the visibility of Posyandu Bahagia, increase public awareness of the importance of maternal and child health, and encourage higher participation in Posyandu activities. The methods used in this service activity are lectures, discussions and exercises. Apart from that, as a result of this, posyandu cadres realized that branding was needed as a distinctive characteristic and were interested in developing better branding. Thus, it can be said that this branding strategy received a positive response from Posyandu cadres.

Rian Maulana YusupEti Wati Windri Dewi Ayu Ahmad Jaelani

Regular health checks are an important step in early detection and prevention of diseases, especially Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs) such as hypertension, diabetes mellitus, high cholesterol, and gout. Lack of public awareness of the importance of regular health checks is a challenge in controlling these diseases. This community service activity was carried out in Laikang Village, Biringkanaya District, through free health education and examinations as a form of contribution to increasing public awareness and health status. The activity methods included education on blood pressure, blood sugar, uric acid, and cholesterol as well as direct examinations of 55 participants consisting of pregnant women and the elderly. The results of the activity showed high community enthusiasm and increased understanding of the importance of routine health checks. This activity also succeeded in identifying several cases of NCDs that had not been previously diagnosed. Limited equipment and medical personnel were challenges in implementation, but overall this program showed effectiveness as a means of promotion and prevention in improving public health. In the future, it is hoped that similar activities can be carried out periodically and sustainably.
Fitri AdrianiNingsi AngraeniArfianiLilis SuryaniSamila

https://e-jcs.aktabe.ac.id/index.php/jurnal/article/view/143

Menstrual hygiene management (MHM) is essential for maintaining adolescent girls’ reproductive health, especially for students in Islamic boarding schools (pesantren) where access to information and sanitation facilities is limited. Proper education is crucial to reduce stigma, misconceptions, and improper hygiene practices during menstruation.

This community service activity used a participatory educational approach through preparation, material development, implementation, and evaluation stages. The program targeted 38 female students aged 12–18 in a pesantren in Kediri Regency. Evaluation was conducted using pre-test and post-test with paired sample t-test analysis.

Evaluation results showed a significant increase in knowledge scores from a mean of 91.68 to 95.13 (p < 0.001), despite initially high baseline scores. These findings indicate that a contextual educational approach effectively strengthens adolescents’ understanding of MHM.

The improvement in knowledge was supported by relevant content and interactive delivery methods. Education based on cultural and religious values successfully reduced stigma and promoted healthy menstrual management behavior.

MHM education programs in pesantren settings are proven effective in enhancing girls’ understanding. Similar initiatives should be scaled up and integrated into adolescent health education curricula.

Keywords: menstrual hygiene management, health education, female students, Islamic boarding school, adolescent girls.

Byba Melda SuhitaReni Yuli AstutikSiti KomariyahShanty NataliaAgustin Widowati

Exclusive breastfeeding during the first six months of a baby's life is essential to support optimal growth and development. However, the achievement of exclusive breastfeeding targets in Indonesia is still low due to various obstacles, such as suboptimal breast milk production, inappropriate breastfeeding techniques, and minimal education for postpartum mothers. One non-pharmacological intervention that has proven effective in increasing breast milk production is the Oketani massage technique, a gentle breast massage method developed in Japan. This community service activity aims to provide Oketani massage education and training to fifteen postpartum mothers in Paenre Lompoe Village, Gantarang District, Bulukumba Regency. The implementation method includes counseling, massage technique demonstrations, direct practice, and pre-post test evaluations. The results of the activity showed an increase in participant knowledge and the practical benefits of Oketani massage in facilitating breast milk. In addition to increasing breast milk production, this massage also has positive psychological impacts, such as reducing stress and strengthening the mother-child bond. With an educational and participatory approach, this activity is expected to increase breastfeeding success and strengthen the role of families and communities in supporting maternal and infant health.
Husnul KhatimahSumarniIsnaenyKurniati AkhfarRika
